EMOTIONAL STEP-DOWN PROJECT

EMOTIONAL STEP-DOWN PROJECT

ESP

In line with the constitution of Cheirology Research Organisation (CRO) – a registered non-profit organisation – (050-437-NPO), the Emotional Step-down Project (ESP) aims to provide counselling services based on the principles of Chirology.

Background.

Since the registering of CRO in 2006 there has been a noticeable rise in the need for a service that provides individuals with a safe environment where they can recuperate after emotional trauma.

Individuals are often discharged from facilities where they received emotional therapy, but are not ready to return to their home environment yet.

Other individuals cannot afford or wish not to be admitted to institutions where they can receive emotional therapy, yet their home environments are not conducive for emotional healing. In these cases, there is a need for a safe environment where emotional healing is possible. Such a safe environment (step-down) is essential in the emotional healing process, and this is the service that the Emotional Step-down Project aims to establish.

A pilot step-down facility will be established with the intention to establish others in areas where there is a need for this service.

PROJECT LOCATION.

The pilot project will be launched in Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

COUNSELLING SERVICES.

  • Individuals who are not receiving counselling will be provided with emotional guidance based on the principles of Chirology.
  • Counselling services are provided in the form of emotional empowering sessions.

This includes the following:

  • Providing a safe environment where sessions will be conducted.
  • Guidance will be provided based on the principles of Chirology.
  • Each individual will receive a schedule for planned activities. The schedule is drawn up according to the individual’s unique fingerprint pattern combination.
  • Each individual will receive a full hand analysis report based on the principles of Chirology. This report provides guidance in all areas of life and will be discussed with the individual.

MAIN AIM OF THE STEP-DOWN.

The main aim of the step-down facility is to provide a safe environment where, with facilitation, emotional healing is possible.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE STEP-DOWN FACILITY?

Individuals who need a safe environment to heal on an emotional level.

HOW WILL INDIVIDUALS BE IDENTIFIED TO REGISTER FOR THE SERVICES AT THE STEP-DOWN?

Since this is a project that aims to provide a service to the community, individuals will be identified in consultation with the institutions, present in a specific area, which deals with the emotional heath of individuals.

WHY IS MONEY NEEDED FOR THIS PROJECT?

  • The establishment of infrastructure that includes office equipment.
  • Awareness campaign.
  • Sponsored packages for the first three months.

HOW WILL THE PROJECT BECOME SELF-SUSTAINABLE?

The manager of the step-down facility will be responsible for fund raising in the community where it is situated. These fundraising efforts and the management of these funds is again subject to the financial regulations of the Department of Social Development.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY.

The step-down project will serve the community in the following ways:

  • It will provide a much-needed service that will contribute to the emotional health of individuals.
  • It will provide job opportunities for the staff who manage the facility.
  • It will support local businesses by outsourcing accommodation, food, transport and other logistical functions that CRO cannot provide.
